I’m Going To BlogOn Xmas 2017
In just a few days time I shall be travelling to Manchester for BlogOn Xmas 2017. It’s very hard to believe because this year has been a rollercoaster of a ride on the blog.
It all started back in May when I travelled up to Manchester for my first blogging conference. This was a massive step for me, to step out of the shadows of my blog and talk and meet people that I had only ever spoken too online. Being a shy person by nature I was incredibly nervous, but I have to say I was made to feel at ease straight away, and that’s because the blogging community really is made up of some lovely people.
I also went to an awards night in London back in June, and was beginning to feel more comfortable about blogging events. So much so, that the day after arriving back from London I decided to book BlogOn Xmas for September.
This time around I actually don’t have any nerves. Just lots of excitement for what will hopefully be a fantastic weekend.
I will be travelling up from Cardiff on the Saturday, but before I can get going on the motorway to Manchester I have to travel in the opposite direction to Swansea.
My 18 year old son is going to university and that’s his day for arrival at his accommodation. Thankfully his time slot is 10.30am so I’m hoping to arrive on time, and maybe get away around lunch time, although it wouldn’t surprise me if he is asking me to leave quicker, haha! Parents can be embarrassing at these sort of things, not that we do anything, just being there is embarrassing enough!
There are many things I am looking forward to this time around when it comes to BlogOn, in particular that there are going to be many more men there than there was in May. I’m sure there was only about five of us in May, but this time there is at least a dozen going, Dad power, yay! Of course there will still be at least 200 women, but that’s par for the course.
BlogOn is brilliantly organised by Laura and her team. It’s so laid back that you can’t help, but feel totally comfortable. It’s a perfect size that doesn’t overwhelm you like some blogging conferences. I’m also looking forward to some sessions and already know which ones I want to attend, you can certainly never stop learning when it comes to blogging.
So roll on Saturday for a great time and two kid free day!
