Kidde Remote Lync Camera Review

December 3, 2016

In today’s world our homes are full of very expensive high tech equipment and keeping it safe can be very difficult. Laptops nowadays hold so much of our personal information. The last thing anybody wants is it falling into the wrong hands.

I was recently asked if I wanted to review a Kidde Remote Lync Security Camera. This took me a split second to decide, yes! It’s a revolutionary new home security camera that allows you to keep a close eye on your home via your phone when you are not there.

This really does change home security and the reason is that the Kidde Remote Lync camera has so many features. First of all it works off a rechargeable battery with a 3 month life when charged fully. Consequently there are no wires to worry about and that means it can be placed anywhere in your home. It’s wi-fi and works with your wi-fi network to an app you can download to your phone.

Once you have downloaded the app, the incredibly easy step by step guide is like a walk in the park, and then from the comfort of your phone via the app you are in complete control of the camera to know exactly what is going on in your home when you are not there.

Some of the settings are pure genius in my opinion. It has pet mode which eliminates every time your cat or dog walk around setting off the camera. It sends video via your modem to your phone and it stores video for up to 12 hours on the cloud free of charge.

You can either arm or disarm the camera manually or you can set it on the app to arm automatically as soon as you leave home.

The camera is triggered by motion through a passive infrared (PIR) sensor. When the camera is triggered it will record 5-30 second videos which is automatically stored. Of course you could be just wanting to give yourself peace of mind that everything is ok at home. That’s not a problem you can tune in to check anytime you want.

You don’t have to worry about when it’s night time or a dull day because the camera will activate a bank of LED lights to illuminate any area to make sure you have a picture perfect video.

The app is available free of charge from either the Apple App Store or Google Play, but it’s not available on desktop and it’s compatible with most wi-fi networks. You can also use trusted friends or family to have access to the camera that can check for you if for some reason you haven’t got a connection.

The Kidde Remote Lync Camera is most importantly very well priced at £125. For me this makes it a very cheap security option for a high quality product and is available at Amazon and other high street retailers.

I would recommend this product to anybody. I think it’s a fantastic piece of high tech security and will give you a massive comfort that all is safe at home.

Here is a short video of how it all works…
