The months after Christmas can always be a bit tough financially like a lot of people we probably overspent to make sure we had a Christmas that was special.
Of course those winter months are when we need to slow down our spending and try to make our money to go a little further.
So when I was approached by Redex to challenge me to make my petrol tank go further I jumped at the chance. As the saying goes if you look after the pennies the pounds will look after themselves.
Redex is the UK’s biggest selling fuel additive. It was originally was introduced way back in 1922. Redex has a very interesting history it was added to world war 2 planes so they could fly for longer and those planes were marked with the Redex red X so pilots had extra confidence in flying for longer. Since the introduction of Redex it has firmly been at the forefront of engine technology. Regular use of Redex saves fuel,reduces emissions and improves the life of engines.
Redex is sold for both petrol and Diesel engines and I was going to use the petrol system cleaner which comes in a very convienient 4 pack shots which is brilliant because you can store it in your boot so you never forget to use when you go to the petrol station. Now the challenge that I have been set to save money on our fuel costs. I decided to carry it out over a period of one week as that is the timescale that both cars would use a tank of petrol. So I added one one shot of Redex and filled up both cars with petrol. Adding the Redex one shot is so easy no measuring open the bottle and pour it all in.
About halfway though the week I noticed that the fuel gauge definitely did not seemed to going down as fast as it would normally but it was still early days but the signs were good, and I was feeling optimistic that I was going to save money. As I approached the end of the week I noticed that both cars had approximately a quarter of tank of petrol left. Which proved without a doubt that Redex had saved me money on my fuel costs. Because normally at the end of seven days both cars would be bordering on empty.
I am usually very dubious about such products that claim to save you money. Redex has changed my mind it definitely lives up to claims that it saves money on your fuel costs and I have no reason to doubt that it will help the environment and cut emissions and of course make my engine last longer which in turn will cut down visits to garage.
