Making Your Home More Eco-Friendly
Nowadays we have to start to be more aware of the environment and the best place to start is in our home. If we all make little steps to make our homes eco-friendly, this will create a big step to improve the world for all of us, and more importantly for our children and future generations. So here are my tips for trying to make your home just a little bit more eco-friendly.
1. Solar Panels
These may be expensive to install, but the long term benefits are huge, especially with cost of the energy you’ll save. Of course you’re then producing the energy in your home.

2. Double Glazing
Replacing your single-glazed windows with double glazing is a massive energy saving, and it’s also considering wood frame windows as they offer much better insulation, plus they’ll last a lifetime if looked after property.
3. Aluminium Radiators
Heating your home is very important especially during the cold months of winter in the UK, but sometimes with traditional radiators they seem to take forever to heat up. While I was browsing the internet I came across Trade Radiators who supply all types of aluminium radiators.

Aluminium radiators are perfect as they heat up very quickly. They are perfect for a room that is a problem to heat and they’re also very efficient. It’s a high performance radiator to suit any budget and they look fantastic as well.
4. Water Based Paints
The vast majority of paint used on woodwork in homes today is still oil based. Switching over to water based paints is the answer because they have natural pigments which makes them more energy efficient and they stay looking good for longer.
5. Recycle furniture
It is so easy in today’s world to buy furniture that is flatpack, and of course it’s relatively cheap. Nowadays there is so much choice from recycled furniture and no trees have been chopped down to make it.
So there are a few things that we can all do to make our home more eco-friendly.
Do you have any tips to make your home more eco-friendly? I would love to hear your ideas.
