Moochies Phone for Kids Review

November 12, 2015

I am a dad of five children and over the years when my eldest child was in her very early teens and started going out with her friends, especially during the dark nights of winter I couldn’t help, but worry about her safety.

As a parent I don’t think you ever stop worrying. I always worried about where my children were and the only way to know that they were safe was either to follow them, which of course would be totally unacceptable or to phone them regularly.

What would have been good would be a GPS signal that I could follow on my phone that would show me the whereabouts of my children.

Finally such a thing exists! Moochies have produced just that, meaning that you can have piece of mind knowing where your children are all the time.

The main features include:
Voice calling
The parent can set 10 contact numbers
SOS button
GPS tracking
Safe zones
Watch function
The design is very cool and trendy. It comes in five different designs so you are easily going to find one that your child loves. The latest and fifth design is on the moochies website and it’s perfect if your child is a goth because it’s plain black!

It was very easy to pick what design our twin girls would like and of course we went for the pink one!
What I love about the moochie is that it’s easy to handle. It’s manufactured to a very high spec and the attention to detail is brilliant. The watch is shaped perfectly to go around a child’s wrist with a super soft strap which is also adjustable.

The functions of the watch are excellent because children don’t need to remember numbers. They just have to press one of the call buttons on the side of the phone and they are immediately ringing mum or dad. Both these call buttons are located either side of the power button.
My wife and I tested the watch as a phone and I found it connected quickly. Whilst speaking to my wife, I found it to be very clear.  It is a speaker phone, but that makes it easier to hear the other person.
Moochies have developed an app to use with the phone watch. The app is very easy to use and you can preset 10 numbers that are able to ring the phone.

Another feature on the phone which is invaluable in keeping your child safe is the SOS button. This is on the bottom of the phone and when pressed it will instantly send a 15 second audio message to either mum or dad. Again, my wife and I tried this out and when pressed, a loud alarm went off on my phone alerting me to possible danger my child might be in.

What makes the moochies phone truly unique in my opinion is the GPS. This enables you as a parent to track your child wherever they may be using the Moochies app. It was really easy to use and you can set safe zones too such as school and home etc. If your child wanders outside this area you are alerted via the app. When the GPS is on it works very well, but beware if the watch is turned off the GPS does not work.
The Moochie is ultimately a phone and this means it requires a SIM card. It operates on 2G, but can be used with any mobile network. It comes with a lead for charging the battery and the app can tell you how much battery charge is left at anytime.

Final Thoughts

I think the Moochies watch phone is awesome! It is what I think any child would want because it’s so cool.
For me as a parent it gives you security knowing where your child is at anytime and that’s worth so much in today’s world.
The design, the ease of use and quality of the Moochies phone watch make it a must have. I would highly recommend this product to parents who want their children to stay safe and I think it is reasonably priced at £79.99.
For the purpose of this review I was sent a one moochies phone watch. All views and opinions are 100% mine

I think this sounds great! My little boy is only 9 months, but I have already thought about the day when he wants to go around on his own, so this would be a good solution. I think it's important to install a sense of independence in your children, so they grow up confident and ready to take on the world. On the other hand you do hear scary stories, so this gadget could probably provide some peace of mind. Super review. #KCACOLS

This looks so awesome, I want one! But it would be particularly good for Gabby – she often goes out to play and then forgets to come home when she's meant to! Thanks for linking up! #TheList xx
