Moving the twins to bigger beds
Our twins girls are now four years old and we have been lucky to have had their cots for them since they were babies. We deliberately bought cot beds for the purpose that they would last a long time. They converted easily from cots to beds, which was great, but the time has come that they have out grown their beds and in all honesty they are starting to fall apart! However, they have been a good buy as they have lasted us four years so they now need new beds and this is something we have to think about very carefully. The reason is because they share a bedroom and although it’s a reasonable size, it’s far from large.
As we all know children have loads of toys and clothes, and well, generally a lot of things! This of course is made worse for us because twins often means double the amount of things.
As I mentioned above their bedroom is not that big so we have decided that we need to save space where possible, whilst also creating some extra storage where possible.
The first place my wife and I turned to was the internet. Luckily we came across a company that specialised in beds called Bedzrus.
The range of beds on offer was really good. We started looking for beds that had draws underneath for storage meaning that we could store the less used items the girls use. It was important to look for a bed that had a quality mattress and base as this was going to be their bed for a number of years so quality was very important and we didn’t mid paying the price for something to last a long time.
The Ferrara Whitewash Shorty Captains Bed immediately stood out for us. We loved the white colour as it’s pretty neutral and will grow with the girls, but also look at all of the storage underneath!

I’m sure the girls would love these new beds and they could even use one of the draws they have to keep some of their own special toys in, which I think would really make their new bed feel like their own.
After many years of waking up in the middle of the night and sleepless nights for mum and dad, hopefully our twins girls will sleep comfortably and securely in their new beds all night! Fingers crossed!
