My son is 17 years old today
My son is 17 years old today and I know people say it a lot, but I do wonder where the time has gone.
When he was a baby he used to go to sleep in my arms twirling my hair, actually I think he pulled half of it out!
When he was about two years old I was asleep in bed and he ran up to me and poked me in the eye and scratched my eyeball! I ended up in A&E.
It doesn’t seem like yesterday that he was starting nursery and he was very well known very quickly for wearing shorts no matter what the weather was like! I mean rain, sun and snow he would be there in his shorts!
When he was about 4 years old his mother and I separated and I was seeing all three of the children regularly. One day I found a note in my car saying, “To Dad, I miss you, love A”.xxxxxx
It’s only now that I realise how much he missed me being there 24/7.
So many memories I really could go on forever! You can pack a lot into 17 years.
My son A has never done anything, but make me proud for me to call him my son. He is helpful, polite and a pleasure to have around. He’s not cheeky, well at least not to me! He works hard in school and is currently studying for his A levels.
Well, today he turns 17 years old and yes he’s taller than me! Strange how your children end up looking down on you.
Happy Birthday A. The world is yours to achieve! Anything you want and I’m sure that you will succeed whatever it is you decide to do. I love you xx
