Our first night at home with the twins
Following on from my last post, we arrived home at around 3:30pm.
We were anxious, nervous and full of trepidation. We were fully equipped with girls medication and prescription milk. This was going to be a big learning curve!
Twins!
There were no doctors or nurses around anymore. It was just us. 24/7!
I can remember sitting on the sofa with the girls asleep in their car seats. I was looking at my wife and thinking what next!
Well, we found out soon enough!
Our girls woke up and wanted their bottles. Now this is where special care routine was to come in handy! I made their milk and added their medication, whilst my wife got the girls ready.
We also decided to keep a chart of how much milk they drank each time they had a bottle, along with the time they had it.
It’s really quite scary that were no doctors or nurses around for support if anything was to goes wrong. It was a very strange feeling. All of a sudden our security blanket after 27 days had been taken away.
Still, we just had to get on with it.
I can’t remember anything in particular going wrong. It was just a very long night, without much sleep.
In the coming days and nights M was going to struggle to have her bottle because we were going to find out that she suffered from silent reflux. This meant that after she had her bottle of milk she would sick it up and arch her back in paint. It was very frustrating. Anyway, I’ll talk more about that in another post.

Thankfully, we got through our first night!
We were tired and worn out, but after 27 days in special care we had the girls home with us. We fely so much excitement that it just outweighed the feeling of being knackered!

In my next post I’ll talk about the next first few days and our first visit from the health visitor.

Eeek! I remember it so well! Sitting down on the sofa with these two beautiful babies in car seats just staring up at me! Can't believe they're nearly 3 now! Thanks for linking up to the #binkylinky

It is scary enough when you get home with a single baby let alone 2! #binkylinky
