People No Longer Seem Obliging Or Helpful Disneyland Paris 2018

On our recent trip to Disneyland Paris I was shocked to find that people generally nowadays simply don’t go out of their way to help others. It’s all about what they want and they will have that at all costs. So let me explain a couple of instances that happened on our recent trip.

On day three of our trip we decided at the almost the last minute to go and watch the Disney Illuminations, which start at 11pm. We have been many times to watch the Illuminations and if you want a place close to the front to watch them sitting you really need to be there about an hour or so before hand. Saying that we made our way through the crowds and eventually ended up quite close to the front, and I saw a space that would easily fit two little six year old girls and two very averagely sized parents, and would we be blocking anybody’s view? Not a chance.

We were about to sit down when all of sudden the couple behind us started raising their voices and indicating that somebody was sitting there. If somebody was sitting there, then that’s no problem, I wouldn’t entertain taking somebody’s seat, it’s quite simply not in my nature to do that to anybody. So we then went to sit a little further over and a woman got very agitated with us and simply refused to allow us to sit there.

What is wrong with people today? Yes, we were late getting to the illuminations but there was room certainly for two little girls to sit down. The man of the first couple, who I might add was also a father of similar aged children to our girls, then put his legs out deliberately to cover the space where we could have sat with the girls, needless to say nobody turned up there to sit down.

I will add that the man of the second couple actually gestured for us to sit down, but would you believe it, his wife/girlfriend actually told him not to let us, and he was firmly put in his place by her.

In the end we stood against the railings which is accepted and watched the illuminations in their glory and the girls didn’t seem bothered.

The second occasion in Disneyland Paris where people just don’t give any thought or consideration to anybody else is actually a collection of moments of queue jumping and just pushing people out of the way, myself included on a number of occasions.

It’s seems today that people are just not concerned who or what is in the way, they will do everything in their power to be selfish to get their own way. It seems to be the way of the world today.
