Last year I wrote a post all about being grumpy about going to Disneyland Paris. The situation for me was that I was never a Disney fan. I never really liked Disney as a child, so understanding ” the magic of Disney” that everybody talked about, well quite honestly I never got it. Last June within about one hour of arriving at Disney, I was a convert! I had been sold the magic hook, line and sinker. There really is a magic in the air. It’s hard to fully explain, but the minute we arrived at the Disneyland Paris hotel… [Read More]
To be five years old like my twins must be wonderful. The innocence of a child is still there, none of the harsh realities of life have in any way clouded their thoughts. Life is actually very easy. You get to be a kid and you believe in all the magical, wonderful, completely mythical ideas in the world, but hey ho, that’s ok. You are only five, plenty of time for growing up. My twin girls are five years old and we have visited Father Christmas at West Midland Safari Park (you can read my full review here), and it’s… [Read More]
This post may surprise you, but I’m a huge believer in eradicating gender stereotyping, especially with our children. The reason is very simple. As I once wrote my five year old twin girls are definitely a superhero and a princess. Disney, I have decided makes no excuses about the fact that all girls are princesses and all boys are superheroes. There is no doubt staff are told and trained to use the word princess when talking to little girls and superhero or prince when referring to boys. While we were on our holiday in Disneyland Paris there were of couple… [Read More]
I wrote a post a couple of weeks ago saying that Disney was not my ideal holiday and that I preferred to go on a beach all inclusive holiday instead. In the post I asked the question if I was Grumpy about going to Disneyland Paris. Well I have been on my holiday to Disneyland Paris so the question is have I been converted? Do I understand the magic of Disney? OMG! Do I ever! I really get it now! I can totally see why millions of people say Disney is their happy place and why you can get the Disney… [Read More]
I have recently come back from Disneyland Paris and I will be publishing more in depth blog posts later this week on our holiday experience. There were so many magical moments that we managed to photograph. One particular magical moment was when my five year old twin girls met Peter Pan and Wendy Darling. It really was very special to see their little faces light up with big beaming smiles and if I could bottle that happiness and joy I saw in that one moment and sell it I’m sure it would make me a millionaire.
In couple of weeks time as I have already written in a previous post called Family Holidays this Summer, I made no secret of the fact that Disneyland is not my ideal holiday, but hey ho I have a problem. My wife and our five year old twin girls are mega excited and I am doing my best to get into the spirit of Disney. I am not a Disney type of person. You know kind, smiley, wholesome, and yes there is no bad in the world when Disney is in your life. Of course the reality is there are… [Read More]
