R and M singing and dancing to the latest songs
Recently I have noticed the twins dancing to the lastest music which is incredible considering they are not fours years old yet.
All of my children love music and my older children grew up listening to Guns ‘n’ Roses, Nirvana and Green Day. They didn’t have a lot of choice because I always had it on in the car, but to this day my oldest daughter texts me on occasion to say listen to this song, it’s awesome! Thankfully they all have good taste in music!
In particular R has a preference for the lastest sounds and also has an ability to remember parts of the songs she hears and boogies along sometimes showing total attitude when she hears a bit of rap!
The other day she was sitting on the sofa with her headphones on holding my phone, listening to Marvin Gaye, Lets Get It On, which is sung by Charlie Puth. I stood there in amazement watching her dancing and singing at the same time!
M has a slightly different taste in music she tends to go for the frozen type music and usually sings in a high pitched voice which goes close to bursting my eardrums!
Their love of music has intrigued me at such a young age so I was wondering why? I have always loved music and have always listened to current music because I think it’s the only relevant music.
What happened 10, 20 or 30 years ago was great in its day, but it’s no longer revenant. Yes, I will always have a few favourites from the past, but rarely listen to them now. So I wondered if my love of music has naturally passed down to all my children.
The girls when they were about 18 months old, used to dance around the room with me and copy all my movements. I’m not sure why really as I’m not a good dancer, but it was funny to watch! So I guess I have encouraged their love of music.
R’s taste in music is really very definite. She knows exactly what she likes, whereas M’s is more whatever is playing at the time!
R’s current list of favourites include Avinci, Justin Beiber, Flo-rida and of course her favourite is Marvin Gaye Get It On!
The other day after nursery I went to Greggs to get lunch for the girls and we were standing in the shop waiting when R said, “Dad?” She looked to the ceiling and smiled. It took me a second and then I realised Marvin Gaye lets get it on was playing and she promptly started singing!
Neither of the girls are going to be on X factor anytime soon because like their daddy they don’t sing well, but it’s great that they love to sing and dance and enjoy music!
I believe the love of music is so important. It can bring fond memories of moments that have happened in your life.
