Summer Garden Party For My Six Year Old Twin Girls And Their Friends

With the school summer holidays fast approaching, which are around six weeks long, I thought I would start to plan ahead and decide what sort of things we can arrange and plan. The one thing my six year old twin girls have asked for this particular summer holidays is a garden party where they can see friends and catch up with them and find out what they have been doing during the summer holidays, and I think is a fabulous idea. We have a good sized garden so having a summer party won’t be a problem, but there will be a limit to how many friends they can invite! Although it won’t be a large number of friends, it will be a generous amount of friends that they can invite to keep them happy.

To keep 20 or so children occupied for a few hours is not easy, but thankfully we have plenty of garden toys to keep them all occupied, plus of course organising some party games.

My six year old twins are so completely opposite. One loves superheroes and the other believes she is a princess, haha! So making sure they are both happy with everything at the party can be a bit of a nightmare, but we do our best to please them both.

So this is my idea of some important ingredients to make a summer garden party go with a blast.

1. Food

It’s a party and what better food do you need at a party other than cakes, lots of them! Cupcakes, Victoria sponges, anything that is simply scrummy and tastes delicious.

2. Garden toys

We are lucky enough to have a large garden as I have said already, so fitting a trampoline, a small bouncy castle and a climbing frame amongst other garden toys isn’t a problem and should keep the kids busy for hours.

3. Party Bags

I do love a party bag, even though it’s not a birthday party, but it is still a party, and the kids should definitely leave with a treat, and I love making the party bags myself with small toys and of course the sweets and lollies from Swizzels are perfect for this occasion. 4. Party Games

No party is complete without some party games, and when you are out in the garden the choices are unlimited!
