The magical place
I have come to believe that our home is a magical place, or at least that’s what I have been convinced of.
Why do I think it is magic? First of all there are four year old twins living here. The girls have an innocence and naivety about the real world which is something to behold. This won’t be there for long because children grow up so quickly.
Their mum has done a wonderful job in bringing out their imagination and creativity like nothing I’ve ever known.
The girls truly believe their mummy has magic! And of course mummy does have magic! She can conjure anything out of the air and it’s just what the girls want! Daddy can too, but maybe not quite like mummy or as the girls say Daddy doesn’t have magic! Although every now and again M waves her hand at me,and says, there you are Daddy you have magic now. Bless her! Looking after Daddy.
If we are driving to go somewhere and we are at the traffic lights and they are red, mummy has encouraged the girls to magic the lights green and of course just like magic they change and the girls believe it.
Our home is full of toys which the girls play with all the time. They create games of make-believe that only four year olds can do. Whether it’s riding on mummy’s back because she is a horse or hiding behind the sofa ready to jump out and frighten the first person coming into the room! Perhaps they’re hiding in the wardrobe behind all the clothes or making a den out of cushions and creating a beach in the lounge. Or riding a magic broom. It’s never ending and pure innocence at its best.
During the day I catch in the corner of my eye a princess run past in plastic princess shoes followed closely by iron man! You really couldn’t make this up.
Living in a house with so much imagination, really is incredible and constantly puts a smile on my face.
Their love of make believe only belongs with four year olds because they have yet to experience any of the harsh realities of life. Life to them is just happy and fun and most likely even more fun.
The girls are constantly waving magic wands at something to change it or make something re-appear. Their imaginations are expanding at a very quick pace to make games they play even more exciting.
They have a little door on their bedroom wall isn’t it wonderful to believe in fairies as they do. Oh! To be four years old again. None of the pressures adulthood brings.
I don’t need to go to a far far far away land for a magical fun ride because it’s right here in my own home the girls innonence of life is to be enjoyed. Their zest for life is uncontrollable, it really is to be cherished for as long as possible it’s a home of love and laughter and the next funny moment is never far away beware and take advantage because it will be gone all too soon as they grow up.
