The twins starting nursery in September

June 18, 2015

I cannot believe that R and M will be starting nursery in September. The time has flown by!

It’s quite frightening that they won’t even be four years old and they’ll be off to nursery for half a day. They just seem too little!

The new chapter in their short lives begins and the strange thing is that they have no fear of going, but as parents we have all the fear and a million unanswered questions.
How will they cope in totally new surroundings with total strangers looking after them and other children that they don’t know?

It’s a lot to take in! What I would give to get in their minds! To know what they’re thinking. I suppose the fact that they are twins means that I hope they will look after each other and of course it does mean they have a friend in each other.

M, I consider probably more likely to make friends quickly, whereas R is more reserved so it’s going to be interesting to see how they settle.
Ever since the girls were born beside one family member it has only ever been mummy and daddy that have looked after the girls. I do wonder if they will adjust easily, but if I am honest it is me that’s worried because of course they will settle.

The teachers are all very good at what they do and will make sure they are fine.

Anyway, here we go!  Our twin girls start on a life of independence away from mummy and daddy, even if it is only two hours a day I am sure on the first day I might shed a tear or two!
I only hope they don’t do what their daddy did and cry for four and half months every time my mum left!
