Tied to mummy’s apron strings

January 26, 2015

This is phrase most of us have heard before, but what does it mean?

Well I find it interesting that it’s usually only applied to men.

Unfortunately the generation of young men today haven’t any excuse because a large percentage of them won’t do anything for themselves.

Why you ask?

Well in my opinion a lot of mothers today don’t allow their children to grow. They want them to be reliant on mummy, which I think is so wrong! On the other side the child has enjoyed mummy cooking, cleaning and washing for them.

These men need to grow a backbone and fend for themselves, but I suppose while mummy’s doing eveything for them they won’t.

The other side of this story that I find interesting is if a girl is close to her mum it’s not thought of in the same way.

She is her friend, but she is still being waited on for everything so I believe tied to her mummy’s apron strings.
My final thought is that a large percentage of younger people will not have the ability to look after themselves to a simple basic level and this is all because mummy and daddy’s overbearing attitude to not allowing their children to grow up.
