5. Remember to get the proper permission before you turn the first sod; planning
approval is super important because the last thing you want is to tear everything down. After all, you didn’t get that one little stamp.
6. Fund your project correctly. If you’re adding the cost onto your mortgage, make sure you
get the best deal from your bank; if you’re taking out a second mortgage, make sure they’re not hitting you with all of “those” fees and always do a projection between when you stand to add on in investment versus what you could be paying in fees and interest if you’re not funding this project yourself.
