Treads The School Shoes That Are Indestructible Review #Ad
Children and school shoes if your children are anything like my seven year old twin girls then you will have that feeling that you are constantly buying new ones because they quite simply don’t last very long. As a new full-term starts we are off to the shops to Purchase new school shoes again “parents give big sigh!” Muttering under their breath more money.

So when I was approached by Treads the makers of the the indestructible school shoe, yes I will be honest I was a little bit sceptical that a shoe could be indestructible surely there is no such thing, are they made of steel, no they are not as it happens but they are very tough and that’s what my twin girls need. Which meant also we won’t be buying three or four pairs of school shoes every school year.

I think we forget how much use a school shoe gets five days a week for approximately eight hours a day and they are put through their paces battered on the school playground, so like everybody else I want something that the girls love, but I always want a school shoe I don’t have to replace in a couple of months of time and Treads school shoes fit the bill perfectly.

For this review of Treads school shoes I was sent the Madrid shoe which is a shoe that is designed for boys and girls. My initial reaction to the shoes was they do indeed look very sturdy and tough and they are also very fashionable, and were an instant hit with the girls.
Let’s talk technical about Treads school shoes first and what makes them so indestructible.
All Treads shoes are handmade and they use the finest components to insure quality, comfort and durability.
They have a dual fit technology which means all you do is try the shoe on when it comes out of the box and if you feel you need a bit more room, just remove the orange foot bed and it converts to a wider fit option.
The Treads school shoe is constructed using a technique called Strobel which means that the upper part of the shoe is placed into a mould and the sole is injected around it which creates one unit, so there is no need for gluing. This creates two advantages one a strong bond but also makes the shoes very flexible which is perfect for children that are very active.
Some key features
1. Reinforced heels, which will prevent splitting through stamping.
2. Permair Leather which is breathable and waterproof.
3. Reinforced Seams For additional strength.
4. Shock absorbing EVA removable insole. Which also removes for that made to measure to fit.
5. Fused Sole which makes for hardwearing and is non-slip and non-marking.
6. Texon cellulose board to reinforce sole.
7. Scuff Proof which is made to withstand bumps and scrapes.
8. This one I particularly love a maintenance free wipe clean surface.
So that’s all the technical data that make the Treads shoe school a cut above the rest of other school shoes.
My seven year girls have now been wearing the Treads Madrid school shoes for about two weeks and I have to say I am incredibly impressed by them. They are very tough and incredibly durable one thing I found particularly noticeable was after a couple of weeks their is not a scuff mark to be found anywhere, and a quick wipe down and they still look look exactly the same as when we open the box. Compared to what we normally buy which if I am totally honest after two weeks other school shoes begin to worn and heavily scuffed, Treads school shoes win hands down.

We have also put the Madrid school shoes through a test at home as soon as the girls get home from school they are usually straight out into the garden and onto the trampoline and swings and Madrid was pushed to the limit on the trampoline which it passed with flying colours.

My overall experience of Treads school shoes is they are made and designed for kids that have an active lifestyle in school, although I was sceptical at the claims that Treads made about their school shoes being indestructible I’m happy to say they more than live up to their claims and the girls love them and we as parents love the fact that we will not be buying more school shoes before the girls grow out of them, it’s a shame their feet grow otherwise they would I think last forever.
Treads school shoes come in a range of styles that are either laced up or Velcro strap and range in price from £35-£45. The Madrid that the girls were sent to try out cost £45 which were perfect for them as they love strap shoes and at £45 they are excellent value.
Treads have so much confidence in their shoes that they offer a 12 month guarantee, they will the shoes within 12 months from date of purchase. (please check conditions of guarantee on their website)

My final thoughts and my seven year old girls thoughts are we love them. They are comfortable to wear when they running around the playground like maniacs or playing football or using their skipping ropes or on the trampoline at home. So when we need new school shoes Treads is where we will be going first. Treads school shoes are quality, excellence, style and are very fashionable all wrapped up together and I would highly recommend them.
