2 Marriages 5 Kids = No Money

December 17, 2016

If I had known when I was a teenager how much I would earn and spend throughout my life, would I have done it any differently? OMG! Yes! Yes! And yes again!

Hey ho! I didn’t. I don’t think for one minute that you plan your life. I think we all like to think we plan this that and the other and at that time of my life I will doing this, I will have that much money etc, I don’t think so.

Life is mapped out for us by the decisions we make consciously and unconsciously, they determine our path.

Here’s a quick snapshot of my life.

I went to Australia, had my heart broken into a million pieces. Four years later I ended up in the island of Jersey. I stayed a couple of years, went back to Australia for our winters, came back home to Cardiff, got married, had three children, got divorced, met the love of my life, got married and had twin girls with her.

Obviously a lot more has happened in my life, but that’s a quick snapshot of my life. Did I plan that? Yes, of course I did, haha! I couldn’t even if I had wanted too. It’s too random! Those decisions were probably made consciously, but surely not without much thought.

What those decisions have done is map out my life and I believe I didn’t have a lot to do with that. I couldn’t have even I had wanted to change those decisions.

Of course I could say there is a higher force controlling my destiny, but then I would be talking total crap. If there is well they got that very wrong!

If I’m honest, I’m not unhappy with the path my life has taken, absolutely not and here are the reasons why.

1. I have had five children, who I would walk on hot coals for and do anything for them, and I have on many occasions Having children has made me selfless and considerate in all aspects of life and incredibly short of money! My pocket is now so deep, it reaches to the moon and back. I would not genuinely change a thing. I will always defend my children in public, although behind closed doors it will be a different story if they are wrong!

2. I had to go through an unhappy marriage to discover what all consuming love is and to feel what it is to BE in love, not just to love somebody. There’s a very big difference. I am so lucky to have found that total love and happiness.

3. My mum is frail now, but I have been blessed to have a mum in my life for all of my life when so many are not so lucky. It has been far from been perfect, but my mum has always been there and interestedly has never judged me.

Life is what it is. If it was all planned, my goodness me how boring would life be, which if nothing else my life has definitely been anything, but boring.

I wouldn’t change anything. Family is so important in today’s world it gives us purpose and meaning and a reason to wake up happy every day and feel fortunate.

I, of course would be awash with money, had I not got married twice and had five children! Still, not to worry, there’s always time to win the lottery or sell my blog to Harper Collins publishers!

What has the path of your life been? Did you plan it or would you change it? I would love to know.

Sounds like an eventful life mate.

I made a decision to holiday in America in 2011. From there we got hooked visited many times and got married there.

Crazy to think what one decision can do.
