AD| Buying My Own Holiday Home

I have often thought that if I was lucky enough to win some money or possibly inherit some money, which out of the two is the most likely to happen, my thoughts always turn to what would I do with the money?

I suppose some of us would save it for a rainy day or possibly move to a larger home or extend their existing home. Well for me, I know I wouldn’t do any of those. What I have always wanted is a holiday home abroad. Somewhere I can get away from the daily grind of life at a moment’s notice and without the constraints of a package holiday.

The hardest part for most of us I guess is where would I buy a holiday home? Where in the world would I like to spend my family summer holidays? I knew that the most likely area in the world where I would be looking is Europe. On many occasions we have been on holiday to Portugal so I knew that I would definitely be looking online for properties for sale in Portugal.  Property for sale in Portugal is quite sought after, but you might wonder why Portugal? Well, let me tell you.

Portugal offers the perfect place for family holidays. It has beautiful sunshine, fabulous beaches that go on for as far as the eye can see and the locals are very friendly and always make holidaymakers feel wanted and comfortable and they can’t do enough for them. It is a relatively short flight time from the UK which means you can be on holiday in no time at all.

The particular region where I feel would be a perfect fit our own family holiday is probably the most well-known area in Portugal. Of course, I’m talking about the Algarve. It’s beautiful and has all sorts of beaches. Long sandy beaches protected by golden cliffs or small, more intimate beaches which are nestled between the rocks. The Algarve also offers around 300 days of sunshine every year and the sea is clear and nearly always warm enough for a swim which is perfect for my seven-year-old twin girls. Nearly all the beaches have restaurants and bars so getting lunch will never be a problem.

As a family we love seafood and Portugal boasts a massive selection of seafood restaurants so we can indulge ourselves in our favourite meals.

My dream and hopes are to one day own my own home away from home for use as a holiday home. I will definitely be checking out Property for sale in Algarve. There would be nothing better than to book the flights and get some family time in the sunshine in such a beautiful place.

Portugal is my dream place to have a home and in particular the Algarve, so that my children can see and experience how people live in different parts of the world which is an education in itself for them. Learning about different cultures and nationalities. Who knows maybe I will move out permanently to the Algarve when I retire. I really couldn’t think of a better place to retire.
