Children Of The Forest: My Sunday Photo
After the topsy turvy week that I have had, which at times was very frightening, but hopefully now I am on the mend.
Yesterday we went out to the local park, and whilst there and walking through the deepest darkest woods, in suburban Britain, we came across the children of the forest. They were bordering feral and armed with very large wooden stakes, smiling at us trying to lead us into a false sense of security before taking us down. No, wait!
That’s our five year old twin girls, R and M! We forgot to take them home last week, they have been living wild in the woods for a week, living off acorns and leaves, haha!
I’m only kidding, but I bet they would have survived, they are a couple of very resourceful girls.
The girls love the outdoors, and this proves to me that technology, yes it will be an important part of their life, no doubts there, but they will also know how to enjoy the simple things in life too. Just simply having fun playing in the woods, as I did as a child.

Aye, they’re clearly having a lot of fun. My kids can be just the same: demanding tech and yet when you take them out to a forest, their imaginations run wild. Good to see your two are the same!

Our kids were the same at that age, loved the outdoors and the beach, the forest, playgrounds … anywhere. Not so easy to get our 14-year-old daughter out with us but that’s more because we are so, so uncool now! Your girls look so content

This is why I run Country Kids, because I feel so strongly that time spent like this in the woods is so important for kids, there is more to life than technology and kids appreciate it when you can winkle them out to enjoy it.

We are finding it harder to get our kids out these days but they do because they know they don’t have a choice ;).

My boys love hunting for sticks in the forest. I don’t mind because really helps there imagination, as long as they are not smashing each other over the head with them 😂 X #mysundayphoto
