Let’s Leave Our Children A Planet They Can Be Proud Of
We live today in an absolutely incredible turbulent time. Governments, world leaders and people of power throughout the world are being shown as corrupt and dishonest in everything they say and do. The human race is dramatically trying it’s best to destroy the planet we live on. The people of power in the world are relentless in their actions to leave no future for our children.

I worry daily about all of my children and what future the world holds for them, and in particular my seven year old twin girls. They are just starting out on their journey in life and the question I ask myself regularly is what does the future hold for them?
It would be easy to say it will all be ok and of course it could well be, but the reality is it won’t be ok. All the research that is going on shows quite clearly we are destroying planet earth, yet powerful world leaders and governments ignore this information which is always well researched with findings by experts which they are consistently detailing but appear to be ignored. It’s time to wake up and smell the coffee, we are messing up Big Time!
The current generations that run this world called planet earth will leave a legacy of total disaster and destruction. A legacy that they should not feel any pride for just total shame. We are letting down our children on such a grand scale it’s beyond scary. It’s what nightmares are made of.
Over the next few weeks I will be writing blog posts on issues that I believe will have a direct bearing on how my children will lead their lives and if the generations that currently control the destiny of planet earth continue in destroying it, we will have nothing to pass onto our children. Sadly, that is not an idle threat. The facts are they are there for all to see and it will be a stark reality that our children will have to live with forever.
Some of the topics I will be covering will be the use of plastics and how it’s ruining our environment. Social media and the effects it is having on young people, how it is undermining their confidence and lowering their self esteem because the reality is social media is not real, it’s a make-believe world and our children are being drawn in and believing it as truth. I will also be talking about how as parents we need to show our children a role model they can look up to and hopefully learn from, not a shallow human being who is prepared to brush under the carpet the infinite problems this world faces.
I am from a generation that has to hold up my hands to contributing to the problems of our world and I along with my generation and older generations need to make changes that will leave the world in a better state than it currently is. I feel shame that in just a few short years we have messed up so much for our children.
Thankfully there is time to reverse this and make the world a better place for our children. We are letting down our children in every aspect of our daily lives and it is actually disgraceful. So let’s leave them a legacy our children can be proud of.
Next time I will be talking about the detrimental effects that social media is having on our children.

Yes Nigel, our generation contributed to the world’s problems but I love your attitude. We’re also, in many respects, the antidote. We need to help solve them. I look forward to reading these posts in the weeks to come.
