My Personal MOT with TENA Men

January 28, 2017

To start the New Year I have teamed up with Tena Men to give myself a personal MOT. After all you wouldn’t drive around in a car without an MOT and the human body is no different.

Men in general take very little notice of their health and well being. I’m sure we have inherited this from our youth. For me personally I was oblivious to health and fitness in my 20’s, but as I have got older I have discovered I’m not indestructible and the human body just like a car wears out.

At the start of a new year many men decide it’s time to get fit and healthy. That could involve going to the gym or taking up a new sport, but there are many things you can do at home, and Tena Men sent me a few items to check my health.

If we compare ourselves to a car that needs an MOT, it’s a great way to check your health.

1. Lights.

For many years I have never bothered to have an eye test, but it has become obvious that reading small print is more difficult as I got older. I went along to my local specsavers and found out that I needed reading glasses. Visibility is important, especially when you are driving, but it’s also vital for everyday life. To offset the cost I had a £15 specsavers voucher towards my eye test.

2. Steering and Suspension.

I’m sure we have all noticed how as our car as it gets older has creaks and groans. Well I have noticed that as I have get older my muscles and joints are not as flexible as they were when I was younger.

I was sent three types of resistant bands to stretch out my joints and muscles to keep them working like a well oiled machine. Resistant bands are excellent at stretching out any knots you may have

3. Fuel System.

As soon as your car springs a leak of water you would rush down to your local garage to have it fixed because the chances are the car would break down.

Often seen as a taboo subject many men never talk about urine leakage, but it is a very common health issue. 1 in 4 men over 40 suffer from leakage and Tena sent me the latest Tena Men absorbent protector level 2 to make your life leak free.

4. Bodywork.

Lots of men always like to have their car looking it’s best. So why not treat yourself to a hot shave, and moisturise your skin afterwards. This is important to help keep your skin fresh and you looking good.

I was also sent a Wahl compact trimmer and nasal trimmer.

5. Emissions.

Of course you need to take care of what’s going on inside the same way you check the oil and water in your car. Well your body is no different. A healthy immune system is vital. So next time you go to make yourself a cup of coffee why not swap it for a cup of green tea. It contains powerful antioxidants and nutrients which have a fantastic effect on your body’s immune system.

6. Tyres.

When your car goes for an MOT, it has the tyres checked for the correct pressure. So when I received a FitBit charge 2 I was very excited to see how fit or unfit I was. The Fitbit has many excellent uses such as checking your fitness on the go. It also monitors your BPM. I never knew that a well trained athletes  resting heartbeat is 40-60 BPM so it was fascinating to see how mine compared.

As we progress through 2017 I have decided to keep a closer eye on my health and thanks to Tena Men I have all the equipment needed to keep myself fit and healthy.
