Our summer holiday in Majorca

We had an early start as our plane departure time was 6.10am so we had to be awake by 3am, but we were and the girls were incredibly good and actually quite awake which is more than can be said about me! The girls Trunki cases did come in handy as a good place for them to sit whilst queuing up to check our luggage in.

We arrived at around midday at our hotel, Coma Gran, which is in the resort of Sa Coma. It’s a Thomson Family Life Hotel and we paid for all inclusive.

The hotel and our apartment were excellent, as was the service! We had been travelling since the early hours so the first stop after we had unpacked was the restaurant to have some lunch. The restaurant and food was first class. Exactly what I have begun to expect from an all inclusive Thomson holiday. The selection of was varied and they had a seperate area for childrens’ food which also was very good. 

During our stay we had some plans about what we wanted out of the holiday and one of things we wanted was to go on an excursion. We decided to go to marine land for the dolphin show (blog post coming soon).

We decided it would be good to alternate between the beach and pool which is exactly how it worked out. The beach was great because I got to build sandcastles and revert back to my children! (More about that in an upcoming post!) 

The pool and areas surrounding the pool was excellent and it also had a children’s pool with slides which the girls loved The main pool was deep, but not too deep, and the girls actually learnt to swim on this holiday, blog post coming soon. We also never had to hunt down a subbed as there plenty to go around so that was an added bonus.

The Coma Gran hotel is a lovely family friendly hotel which definitely caters towards younger children. It has a park, which the girls loved to play in at any given opportunity. They also had a soft play room which was our last stop before bedtime every night and it was great to burn any remaining energy the girls had left at the end of the day!

I don’t have any crictisms of the hotel itself, but my only gripe is the entertainment, as I had previously experienced at a Thomson hotel, it’s not good! It was very repetitive and after the kids section had finished the adult entertainment was quite honestly very poor. They have entertainment teams which is new this year and they’re seperate from the holiday reps, but it didn’t inspire me to sit down and watch. In all honesty they weren’t very good considering they were so supposed to be professionally trained. 

Finally the town of Sa Coma was excellent. There were plenty of shops and it was interesting to walk around and explore. On one particular evening we had a horse and carriage ride around the town which the twins thought was wonderful, and actually I thought it was pretty good too! 

Overall our holiday was brilliant. It went much to quickly, but we had a fabulous time!
