Our Holiday To Disneyland Paris 2018 Day 2 & 3

On day two when I looked outside the window, I was disappointed that the weather was not the best. There were dark clouds in the sky and heavy rain forecast for lunchtime. Still we had wet weather coats and leggings and we were determined not to let the weather dampen our day. First up for the day was breakfast at Plaza Gardens with the characters. This is always awesome and the girls love having a hug with Mickey and all his friends. It’s a fantastic chance to grab photos and get the all important autograph books signed without having to… [Read More]

Our Holiday To Disneyland Paris 2018 Day 1

We have recently returned from our annual holiday and for the second year in a row we decided to go to Disneyland Paris. The difference this year is that we decided to stay for seven days against just four days last year. One of the main reasons for that was hopefully it wouldn’t be too much of a rush trying to cram everything in, because believe you me there is so much to do in Disneyland Paris. We did as we did last year and stayed overnight at a hotel for one night prior to going to the Disneyland hotel…. [Read More]

Disneyland Paris My Sunday Photo

My Sunday Photo this week is two photos from our recent trip to Disneyland Paris. We had a fantastic time for seven days and we arrived on the same day that the Marvel Superheroes of summer season started. There was without doubt so many highlights, but without question the one person that made the biggest impression for my six year old twin girls was the one and only Captain America. They absolutely loved him and this was our second meet and greet with him which also included meeting Thor, although he didn’t get a look in with the girls as… [Read More]

My Little Superhero and Princess

I wrote a post in March last year called Superhero v Princess. The post was all about my five year old twin girls and although there is only two minutes between them being born they really couldn’t be more different in their likes and dislikes. I have wondered for a long time whether it’s nurture or nature and I come to the conclusion that it really has to be nature. Neither my wife nor I are passionate about superheroes or princesses so they couldn’t possibly have been influenced by us. The girls have just turned five years old and after… [Read More]

Do We As Parents Dictate What Toys Our Children Play With

I have written on a few occasions about gender stereotyping when it comes to toys, films and activities for our children. I am 100% behind toys being gender free. As parents I have often wondered do we influence what toys our children play with because of our own likes and dislikes from childhood? After all our children as they grow up are like sponges and hear everything we say, and without question mimic us. Above all things though, they trust us completely and without reservation. So if I was playing call of duty on the Xbox would they then think… [Read More]

When do our Children Stop Seeing us as Their Superheroes?

Being a parent you have to be absolutely everything to your child. The more children you have the bigger the juggling act becomes and the harder it is to keep all the balls in the air at the same time. As you can see my superhero name is Captain Bubblehead. The minute I see dirty dishes in the sink my head and hands turn into bubbles. I’m a human dishwasher and available for rent at reasonable rates.  When your children are little like my four year old twins there always seems to be a problem or issue you have to… [Read More]

Are shops guilty of gender stereotyping kids?

I have yet again been amazed at how ridiculous the big shops are. You may ask why so I shall explain to you how disappointed I am in their attitude towards gender and clothes for our children.   We went to ASDA  on Saturday because I needed a pair of cheap jeans for my work. While we were there we decided to have a quick look at the summer clothes for our fast approaching holiday. The girls needed flip flops and maybe a pair of crocs for the beach and around the pool. My disgust at the ridiculous behaviour in… [Read More]
