The girls and sleeping
The girls are just over three years old.
I wonder how it happened that they’ve come to share our bed on a regular basis.
I have to admit it has never bothered me that they sleep in the same bed as us.
Not long after the girls were born we invested in a super king size bed. It was expensive, but without a doubt with twin girls the best investment ever!
M has never been a great sleeper or at least doesn’t sleep well on her own, in her own bed, but in our bed she is perfect! She’s a still sleeper, she never fidgets and actually you wouldn’t know she was there! I think we are her security blanket and after all what’s wrong with that?
Sleep deprivation is a killer and I suppose I should have persevered in getting her to stay in her bed. I know I am weak, soft and just couldn’t be bothered.
I don’t believe in making them cry themselves to sleep. I just can’t stand listening to them getting to sleep and what sort of sleep is that when you are upset. I know if I am upset before bed I don’t sleep well so why would they? That doesn’t mean I judge anybody that allows their children to cry themselves to sleep, each to their own.
About a month ago R has been waking up at about five o’clock in the morning and also getting into bed with us, but why oh why do the girls find it necessary to climb in my side because I end up in the middle of them crushed!
The truth is I don’t mind as I have said we have a super king size bed so there is plenty of room and if it makes them secure and happy and we all sleep it’s fine by me.
So how did it happen? I will tell you I am a soft touch and weak and I just wanna sleep!
