The Perfect Mother’s Day Cake With InterCake #ad

March 7, 2018

Mother’s Day is nearly upon us. It’s one of those days that mum can be super spoilt by her children.

This Mother’s Day I have teamed up with InterCake so that my six year old twin girls can give their mummy a very special surprise. A cake that has a very personal touch to make Mother’s Day just that little bit better for her.

So what’s so special about InterCake? Well, I shall tell you. You can personalise the cake with a photo of mummy or a photo of mummy with her little darlings which is what I decided to do.

InterCake was founded in 2004 by Brothers, Colm and Hugh Nohilly. They developed the technology, and then patented it. It allows anyone to print their photos onto edible icing at an InterCake kiosk. There are hundreds of them, and they can be found in Adsa and Morrison’s supermarkets nationwide.

Fun fact! Around 10,000 people use InterCake every week, and it’s incredibly simple!

I went along to my local Asda, and found the kiosk easily near the bakery department. I had my memory card ready which was loaded with the photo that I wanted to have printed on the cake. It was an incredibly simple process with a touch screen that guides you simply onto the next step. I started to create my photo cake by uploading my photo, along with some text so that our girls could send a special message to their mummy.

The whole process of picking a cake and designing it took less than five minutes. I was actually very impressed by the speed of it.

I then went to the bakery department with my cake and a printed receipt. The bakery staff were very helpful, and told me it would take 5 to 10 minutes, and they were exactly right! It’s a very quick service.

From arriving at the kiosk to being handed my ‘design a cake’ from InterCake, it took approximately 20 minutes.

On Mother’s Day, this Sunday, our six year old twin girls will have a special cake to give to their special mummy.

The cakes come in two different sizes. Small which costs £12 and serves 22, and large which costs £16, and serves 40. This includes all the printing of your topper or photo, which is fantastic value. The small cake comes in chocolate or raspberry sponge, and the larger one comes in raspberry sponge only, and they are very yummy.

All that’s left to say is that I hope my wife is happy with the photo the girls chose. Personally I think they did an absolutely fine job of styling her hair!

I highly recommend InterCake to design a cake for those special people in your lives, or to mark that special day.

These are a great idea. I doubt my lot would allow us to cut it into 22 servings though – we’re a family of cake fiends!
