When do you stop worrying about your children? Never!
Just recently my 20 year old daughter went to Ibiza with two friends. I know she is 20, but I can’t help it, I still worry.
When your children are little you seem to worry all the time. When they are unwell, going to school for the first time, making sure that they are happy and comfortable etc.
Your children hit those teenage years which is a minefield. The first problem is they rarely speak to you so goodness knows what’s going on in their minds. They are experiencing all new things like parties and staying out a bit later, so drugs, alcohol, sex and pregnancy become major issues.
Just when you think that’s it all grown up and ready to deal with the world. How wrong can you be.
Back to my 20 year old daughter in Ibiza I will worry all the time she is there. The biggest reason is I have done the Ibiza trip and seen the booze, drugs and sex as it’s absolutely everywhere.
I gave her the usual talk of look after your drinks, try not to get to drunk stay safe and please come home safely. To which I received rolling eyes and I will be ok dad!
I have learnt having five children of varying ages that no matter how old they get, you will always worry for their safety, it never ends. I would imagine when they are forty I will still worry about them!
It’s what being a parent is all about. It’s a lifetime responsilbilty to care for your children.

Yeah, having seen too many of those 'Teens gone wild' type programmes I don't blame you. Id guess its probably worse as you can't keep such a close eye on them like ltle kids.

Funnily enough we were talking about Ibiza the other day when we found a baby grow that we'd bought for our youngest (before she was born) when we were out there on hen and stag parties last summer. It already fill me with dread and she can't even walk yet! Potty Adventures. #BinkyLinky

I was quite happy to give up my stressful job and go on maternity leave when I had my first, but what I didn't know was that although the stress had dissipated, as soon as a 7 pounder came out of my lady bits, the worry started… and it hasn't stopped… and I don't expect it to stop either. But that's life and it's beautiful! Your daughter rocks – I'm jealous! Is 40 too old to go to Ibiza? #BinkyLinky
