Following In Mummy’s Footsteps: My Sunday Photo

February 4, 2018

My Sunday photo this week is all about how my five year old twin girls are following in their mummy’s footsteps with their running, and how my wife is inspiring them to lead fit and healthy lives.

In the month of January the girls entered a challenge which was called the 5 mile challenge. They completed it in great style and with total dedication. On Thursday they received  their medals in the post – this is their third medal for running and they are only five years old.

On Friday they were lucky enough to show their medals at their school assembly. They really are on the road to leading a fit and healthy lifestyle.

Well done girls. I am so very proud of you and love you both so much well done!

In January my wife also set out a challenge for herself. The first was R.E.D January which was running every single day of the month, which she completed with her usual determination and dedication. Coupled with this challenge, she also challenged herself to run 50 miles in the 50 mile challenge. Well, my wife totally smashed that running over 70 miles for the month.

I am awe of my wife’s determination and dedication to running. Over the last year she has achieved so much including running a half marathon.

I love the way you are inspiring our girls to lead healthy lives. You are beautiful and I love you so very much. When you set your mind to do something you carry it through to the very end. Well done on completing both the running challenges you set out for yourself in January. I am incredibly proud of you.

Congratulations to your girls and your wife! Having a mum that runs is definitely inspirational and encourages kids to run. I started Parkrun really nearly three years ago – now my sons, daughter, husband, dad, sister and brother-in-law also run it! None of them would have run it if it wasn’t for me.

Wow that is amazing, I imagine you are super proud of your ladies. My youngest is also 5 and soooooo lazy, he makes his big brother do all his running around – I am trying to change this! #MySundayPhoto
