Our London Marathon Weekend Part 2

So it was our second day in London for the Virgin London Marathon and to say it started just a bit early would be an understatement. The girls were awake and raring to go at 5am, and as big as our family room in the premier hotel was, it was very spacious I might add, there was still nowhere to hide haha! Like it or not, it was time to wake up, but breakfast didn’t start for another two hours and I was starving! Anyways! Eventually breakfast came around and we went down around 7.30am and had a first class… [Read More]

Our London Marathon Weekend Part 1

The weekend just gone, if you hadn’t noticed, was the weekend of the London Marathon and this year my wife, Emily took part in running the 26.2 mile course. Oh my goodness! I would struggle to run 26 metres without collapsing in a heap so huge respect from me that’s for sure. I’m in total awe of her. It was going to be a very full weekend. We arrived on the Friday and planned to leave Sunday night. This was also going to be the girls first proper visit to London so we were going to try and fit in… [Read More]

My Wife Is Training Hard For The London Marathon

Looking back to just under a year ago my wife announced to me that she was going to try get a place to run the London Marathon. I have no doubt that when my wife puts her mind to something she invariably achieves it. She is determined, driven and very focused. If I am entirely honest there was a little, very small percentage inside my mind that thought you are mad woman and if she would actually go through with it, mainly because it’s a bloody marathon! That’s 26 miles, and previously she had only run half-marathons, and only two… [Read More]

My Wife And My Daughter Run The Cardiff Half Marathon

A few days ago my wife and daughter ran the Cardiff half marathon together and it made me feel very proud that they pushed themselves to run 13 miles. It really is an awesome achievement and there is no doubt that it should not be underrated exactly how tough it is because it is without question a fantastic thing to do. For me it’s actually difficult to fully understand how hard and tough it is because I have never been a runner, and if I’m honest I would struggle to run 1km before collapsing in a heap on the ground… [Read More]

School Sports Day: My Sunday Photo

We had our schools sports day for our six year old twin girls during the last week. The school the girls attend, I have to admit make a huge effort to ensure sports day is an enjoyable experience for both pupils and parents, and this year was no different. It is a sports day that has winners and losers, although there is not a huge emphasis on whether somebody comes first, second or third, but at the end of the afternoon there is a winning house and just for good measure my twin girls were in the winning house. My… [Read More]

My Wife Is Seriously Awesome And I Love Her: The London Marathon 2019

Approximately 18 months ago my wife, Emily, decided to take up running. She felt she was not as fit as she would like to be, and as a teenager she enjoyed running so it seemed a natural thing to do to take up running again. I clearly remember her going on those first few runs of just 1k. She would come back feeling knackered, and I imagine it would have been so easy to just stop as it’s far too much effort, but no, my wife is made of much stronger stuff than that. My wife gradually built up her… [Read More]

Run WIFE! Run

It’s not often I write about my wife, but I felt this couldn’t be left unsaid in relation to her achievements with her running. This recently culminated in being picked as just one of ten runners in South Wales to be a part of Team Brecon Carreg, and believe me when I say it’s an awesome achievement. It really is, and throughly deserved. My wife started to run about 12 months ago seriously, and started to enter races and decided to train for the Cardiff half marathon. To start running and training for any race whether it be a 5k,… [Read More]
