How To Make Your Home more Energy Efficient And Stylish

When you are a homeowner there always seems to be something that you need to do, to keep your home in the best possible condition. Throughout the years of owning a own home there will be times when you need to embark on large jobs to ensure your home is up to scratch and fully maintained. One such project is replacing the windows in your home.

When you make the decision to replace the windows in your home it’s very important to do your research and to never cut corners to save a few pounds, because installing new windows is something that you want to last for many years, so it’s completely false economy to save money on an inferior product.

If you look around, as I have done, there are a multitude of different options so it’s important to decide what exactly you want to get out of your windows. For me personally I want something that is stylish but also a way of saving energy and keeping the warmth in my home.

So while I was browsing the Internet, I came across a glass called low e glass. I imagine you are wondering exactly what low e glass is. Well let me explain. It comes in a few different types. There is Planibel A, which has  a high ranking in window energy (WER) which is perfect for keeping your home cosy, and it can be used in single or double glazed windows, and is very resistant to scratches.

There is also a soft coat which is particularly good at keeping your home warm during the winter months, and of course this will improve the energy efficiency of your home. Soft coat products have a transparent metallic finish that brings the heat back into your home and at the same time it will allow free heat and light from the sun back into your home which of course will make your home very energy efficient.

When it comes to installing new windows it’s obviously important to look at privacy especially when replacing your front and back doors and your bathroom windows because they will require privacy from the outside world. So picking  something that is perfect and stylish is very important and while I was looking around I came across the perfect solution in satin glass. Satin glass helps to create and diffuse light going into the home, creating warmth and style to your home. Thanks to its tough finish, it is resistant to fingerprints and dirt which in my home would be perfect with seven year old twin girls always putting their tiny little fingers everywhere.

Satin glass can also be used inside the home for example shower screens, balustrades which is particularly stylish and a beautiful feature within your home. It can also be used in furniture as say cupboard doors, shelves or occasional tables. It really does have a multitude of uses and can really add that touch of style and give your home a very trendy look.

So when the time comes to upgrade my windows or have some re-modelling done within my home I will definitely be looking at both these options.
