New home, new outlook!
If you’ve read my post from earlier today then you’ll know that we’re soon going to be moving house.
It’s not something we really wanted to do, but sometimes in life these obstacles are thrown at us for a reason, even if I’m still yet to discover that reason! However, I really do believe that everything happens for a reason. Something my wife also strongly believes in.
Aside from the upheaval of moving house, packing everything up and settling ourselves and our almost four year old twins into a new house, I am trying to look on the bright side. It’s nearer to the park which means we can walk there in the summer or the girls can rides their bikes. The garden is nicer as it’s flat in comparison to our two tier garden at the moment and it has a greenhouse much to my wife delight!
I guess a new house can often means a fresh start and it does definitely give us the opportunity to dispose of unwanted items and furniture.
One of the things that people quite often overlook is their mattress. Depending on how old it is, you may want to consider changing it for a new one. There are lots of companies around that sell mattresses online.
When looking at your current mattress, check for any signs for wear and tear. Kneel at eye level with your mattress and see if the mattress is curved or flat. Is it still springy and supportive?
Another thing to consider is whether or not it’s still comfortable. If you’re waking up with aches and pains such as a bad back or if you’re struggling to get a comfortable nights sleep on it, then you may need a new one.
One of the things I’m hoping to ‘declutter’ is the girls toys, although my wife isn’t as keen as I am to sell or donate them!
We’re hoping to move ASAP, but it looks like we’ll have to wait until around mid February. Wish us luck!
