R and her Minions T-Shirt

August 5, 2015

R has an overwhelming obsession with the colour blue and in particular a minions blue t-shirt.

How this started and why I am not sure, but it is certainly there now.

She has blue shorts and blue t-shirts and these are the only things she will wear from her extensive wardrobe!
We had a bit of an issue because she was refusing to have them washed and infact would take them to bed at night time to stop us from washing them! Of course once she was asleep they’d go straight in the washing machine, but the problem of how to dry them was something we hadn’t thought of. We don’t have a tumble dryer.

About ten days ago after the girls had gone to bed I decided to rush up to ASDA and buy two more blue minion t-shirts so we always have a one clean while she is going though this fad! I know I am a soft touch!
The other day my wife got one of the new ones for R to wear and it still had the sticker on. R said; “Mummy what’s this sticker?” My wife said that’s off my top and R just accepted it!

I don’t think R has even realised that she has more than one! When your child finds it impossible to get through life without one piece of clothing the lesson is simple – buy more than one!

Update

Since writing this post R always asks me or her mummy if her Minions t-shirt is clean. She asked me this question one day and I said, “No, it’s needs washing.”

R’s bottom lip dropped, but I said, “Come with me” and produced a clean one from the wardrobe to which R said, “I have two?”

I said, “Yes, you do!”

R replied with, “That’s a very good idea Daddy” and walked off smiling!

Ha! The Tubblet still does that and she's older … She'll wear a few things over and over and ignore everything else

We have this but with her bedtime toy – we have 4, in case of loss, washing, and those nights when everything gets dirty (yuk).
