R and M's First Barbecue
The weather wasn’t quite sunshine and blue skies yesterday, but it was warm and not raining which for me signals the start of barbecue season!
The twins have never really had barbecue food before so it was going to be interesting to see how much they would eat.
I did a barbecue last year, but they were only two so just ate their normal food as they weren’t really interest in eating the barbecue food I cooked.

I drove up to ASDA and bought a barbecue a few days ago. I’m glad I did because when I went to a few local DIY stores yesterday morning almost all the barbecues had sold out in each store I went in.
Anyway, I lit the barbecue at about 2.30pm and then decided that the twins needed to learn how hot the barbecue gets. I truly think we’ve been blessed with two girls that listen when you explain to them about dangerous things, but then again maybe it’s just brilliant parenting skills!
I started out by cooking our seasoned chicken drumsticks then gradually added the sausages and burgers whilst my wife made a salad, cooked some chips and boiled some corn on the cob!
The moment of truth soon arrived!
Would the girls eat barbecued food? Yes!
There was no need to worry because they tried everything and ate loads of it! R loved her chicken burger, as did M.
They both said that they love barbecue food!

So our first barbecue of the year was over and everybody loved the food and I am sure that it won’t be long before our second barbecue!
Have you had a barbecue yet this year?
