I can’t believe that Christmas is over already! The turkey has been eaten, presents unwrapped and my front room now resembles a toy shop!
Having said that though, I do have to give all credit to my wife for being super organised when it comes to Christmas shopping. She’s even made a start on saving for Christmas 2017 so I thought I’d let you know how she does it, but first, I read about Christmas savings on this website as they shared a video which was created by My Voucher Codes, and I wanted to share it with you too.
I found the video really useful because it has lots of helpful tips in to help you start saving towards Christmas now.
My favourite tip is the one about setting up a specific savings account and setting aside a specific amount of money each month to save. Even if it’s only £10 a month, by the time Christmas comes around that’s £110 towards your shopping or food.
One that my wife agrees with is to start early. By making a list of who you need to buy for, you can pick up any bargains that you see throughout the year. Voucher codes are also a great way to save money. Websites such as the one mentioned above are worth a search when you’re looking to buy online.
We’ve also started using cash back websites and we’ve already earned £30. We do our food shop online every week so it’s great knowing that we can earn cash back from this. Anytime we need to buy something online a quick search of the cash back website will let us know if we can earn any cash back.
My wife is also saving up her points on her shopping cards. I’m amazed at this as she usually spends them instantly, but again she already has around £11 saved on one card!
When do you start saving and planning for Christmas? I’d love to know!
