A Mothers love as seen by a Dad

March 2, 2016

I watch my wife with our four year old twins and so often sit there in awe of her, thinking to myself that she is incredible.

My wife’s love for her twin daughters is unconditional. It has no boundaries. She has a patience that I only wish I had.

My wife sits and plays all sorts of games with them for hours. She takes them on day trips, to playgroups and to numerous other places. She is always planning what activity to do with them next.

The girls recently turned four years old and my wife decided she was going to make a birthday cake for them. We could have easily just gone and bought two cakes and it would have been easier as the girls have very different tastes, but not a chance!

My wife made the most amazing cake! One half was Spider-Man and one half was Peppa Pig. She spent two days making the cake and yes, it was awesome, but the biggest thing for me was the amount of love that went into making a cake that suited both of their personalities, which are very different.

Some of us are born with a maternal instinct that you can’t learn or teach. You either have it or you don’t. My wife is one such person. She seems to instantly know what the girls want, what their needs are and I have to be honest their faces just light up when they see her. They can’t wait for their mum to get home from work on a Monday and Tuesday and it’s instant laughter.

For me our twin girls are so lucky to have a mum that will always go the extra distance to make sure they are happy, loved and feel secure in their lives. She is for me, the perfect mum.
I love and I’m in love with so very much xxx
